A 20% deposit is required to start your rod with the rest due before delivery. The current production time is 6 months.
Proven rod tapers
7'9" 5 Wt. This is my personal favorite all around rod.
7' 3 Wt. This is a great rod for small brushy streams. Roll casts great!
6'6" 4 Wt. Another great rod for small streams.
8' 6" 6 Wt. A great rod for bigger water.
8, 6" 4 Wt. A new favorite.
I have been developing some 8' rods in 3, 4 & 5 Wt. Sometimes a little longer rod makes a huge difference in getting a nice drift. I am very satisfied with all 3 weights.
These are tapers that I have complete confidence in, but other rods can be designed.

Any repairs due to misuse would be charged a very fair charge. It is important to me that my rods are functional.

What is hollowing?
Hollowing makes a lighter and stiffer rod.
The rod sections are made up of 6 tapered triangular shaped strips. The outer edge of the strips is the outer most part of the bamboo and contains the densest and strongest fibers. In hollowing, I remove part of the inner less dense fibers. This reduces the weight of the rod and also increases the stiffness. It makes a big difference in larger rods, but I have been coming to prefer it even in smaller rods.
What is a mortised grip?
Mortised Grip and Reel Seat
Six carefully shaped pieces of either bamboo or a hardwood are put together with the six strips of the butt section to create the grip and area for the reel seat. It definitely looks great! People expect it to feel slick in their hand, but it really isn't even when wet. The effect on the action of the rod is similar to that of swelling the butt. This rod has burled redwood inserts.
Ammonia Toned Bamboo
On this rod I experimented with ammonia toning of the bamboo inserts. It has a very subtle contrast.
Flamed Bamboo Inserts
Besides the glue and the finish this rod is completely all bamboo. I made the line guides and real seat rings from the pieces planed off while making the strips and bamboo thread was used on the guides and ferrules.
